'I am not one in a million, I am the ONLY one.'
Moving into the Public Relations field, Yan helped Uptrend Network Sdn Bhd, a local Multi-level Marketing (MLM) company, establish its presence among Malaysians through PR & media relations. Yan went on to consolidate her team’s efforts with Uptrend Network and structured a global expansion for Uptrend in a few countries including Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh, Singapore, Thailand Cambodia and the UAE with the establishment of Uptrend International Sdn Bhd.
After a few years in-house, Yan joined a local and established PR agency before embarking on her exhilarating journey with another agency where she helped clients to create the awareness on their companies and brands by leveraging on the conventional Public Relations as well as Strategic communications and achieved the ROI and PR values targeted.
Yan’s forte would be strategic PR publicity. Yan has experience in servicing clients from all walks of industries such as FMCG, F&B, Telecommunications, Publication, Healthcare, Education, Retail, Finance and personalities, amongst others, in developing successful campaigns and effective publicity solutions for them.
A firm believer in women empowerment, Yan continues her effort in accelerating women advancement by contributing her time and skills in women NGOs such as Women Entrepreneur Network Association (WENA), Girls in Tech Malaysia & Great Women Malaysia. Through these platforms, she helps organize networking events such as Global Mentoring Walk, Women Founders Night, WoW Conference, Winning Women Luncheon where she brings together and connects with strong, empowered women (striving to make tangible changes for the benefit of women and wider communities) to expand their knowledge on the latest industry knowledge, research, lifestyles, business strategies and practices through executive dialogues.
Using iOli Dialogue as a platform, Yan has held discussions with educators and teachers to discuss gender diversity as well as gone to schools to hold workshops and open forums where she gets students involved as panelists.
Today, Yan is the CEO of iOli Communications Sdn Bhd (PR agency) and iOli Malaysia Sdn Bhd (nursing-friendly corporate apparel).
Both organisations champion women empowerment by facilitating paths for women to come back into the workforce (employees are encouraged to work at their own convenience for as long as they are able to achieve the promised KPI). Since its establishment in 2015, iOli Communications has grown into a medium-sized agency and carries a nationwide network of clientele list.
Yan is a mother first than a Public Relations practitioner, passionate entrepreneur, writer, speaker & women empowerment advocate.
